There was nobody we wanted as a guest for our first episode more than Bebang Siy. We met Bebang way back in 2013 when our book club discussed “It’s a Mens World.” Even back then, she was a passionate champion of local literature and works written in Filipino.

Bebang is a mother, writer, translator, and copyright advocate. She has a Bachelor of Arts Creative Writing in Filipino degree and a Masters degree in Philippine Literature. She is active in the local publishing community and is a Philippines’ Book Champion and Intellectual Property Ambassador in 2015. She works in the Intertextual Division of the Cultural Center of the Philippines Cultural Content Department.

Two of Bebang’s books were National Book Awards finalists in the Essay and Anthology categories. “It’s A Mens World” won the Filipino Readers Choice Awards in 2012.
